REFRESHING KINDNESS

(Philemon 1:7 NLT)

Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.

KINDNESS:
# is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
# is an act of not just being nice, but showing sympathy and understanding.
# is an act of going out of your way to be nice to someone or show a person you care.
# is doing something and not expecting anything in return.

An act of kindness would be (for eg) if you see someone who looks upset or down, just smiling and saying hello to them, maybe striking up a conversation or trying to help them.

Are you kind to others? If not, start working on being kind to one another. Kindness will surely refresh the stressed out minds (both you as well the person to whom you show kindness)

As God's children, we should be known for being Kind to others.

And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ.

# When we enjoy a closer relationship with Christ,  we will be experiencing His goodness daily.
# Closer walk with Jesus will make us understand His provisions and plans for our future.
# This will keep us growing in the faith about God's generous heart in blessing us to be a blessing.
# This revelation of truth "Blessed to be a blessing" and overcoming the temptation of being "Self-centred" should really bring out the generosity into action..

LEARN TO DO GOOD

# Our people must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others;
# then they will not be unproductive.

* Don't be selfish.
* Be sensitive to the need of others.
* Respond voluntarily to other's urgent needs by helping them in all possible ways .
* This will make our life more productive and meaningful.

AVOID FOOLISH CONTROVERSIES

But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.

# Don't waste your time in unprofitable arguments and discussions.
# They will only bring division and dissent.
# But, be a person of peace and love.

THE TRANSFORMATION...

(Titus 3:3-8 NLT)

# Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient.
# We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures.
# Our lives were full of evil and envy, and
# we hated each other.

But— When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love,
# He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.
# He washed away our sins,
# giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. 
# He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
# Because of His grace He declared us righteous and
# gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.

% This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good.
% These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone.

They must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone.

He gave His life
   % to free us from every kind of sin,
   % to cleanse us, and
   % to make us His very own people,
   % totally committed to doing good deeds.

Please check, whether you are
# Free from sin
# Clean
# Confident that you are His Child (without doubt)
# Doing good to others continuously.

If there is any shortcoming in any of the above areas, be bold to go to Jesus and ask His help to be what you are supposed to be.

% Instead, they must show that they are always good and faithful, so as to bring credit to the teaching about God our Savior in all they do.

And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind.
Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.

% Many a times, we point fingers at others for not doing what they teach.
% We find fault about other's life.
% But God demands every one of His children to be an example to others.
% Jesus expects us to be an example by doing good works of every kind.
% We should not become complacent or be satisfied with what we have done.
% But, we should keep on doing good works until we finish our race in this world.
% So let's not waste time in pointing out mistakes of others or criticising others.
% Instead we ourselves should be an example.
